John M. Taboada, Ph.D., J.D.

Overview

John Taboada graduated with Honors from The University of Texas at Austin with a B.S. in Physics in 1994 and completed his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from The University of Texas at Austin in 2000. He began his career as a research intern with NASA-Goddard Space Flight Center and later as a graduate assistant at UT researching and developing optical interconnects based on polymer’s thermo-optic and electro-optic properties. He co-founded Taboada Research Instruments Inc in San Antonio to research and develop optical/laser instruments and surgical tools for varied applications. Since 2012, he has been a managing member of Taboada Law Firm PLLC in San Antonio.

EXPERIENCE 

Prepare and prosecute patent and trademark applications in diversified disciplines, including lasers, detectors, sensors, electric motors, medical devices, computer and network security, and consumer recreation. Counsel clients regarding prosecution, licensing, sales, and management of their IP portfolio.
